Guglielmo Marconi Exibition all'America's Cup Experience

Marconi America's Cup is part of the project "On the Waves of Marconi in Barcelona". Watch the presentation video.

The initiatives we propose aim to promote the figure of Guglielmo Marconi, a pioneer of wireless communication technologies, on the occasion of the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona. The projects also celebrate three important anniversaries: the 150th anniversary of Guglielmo Marconi's birth, the 125th anniversary of his first radio broadcast at the America's Cup using the Marconi radiotelegraph, and the 100th anniversary of Radio Rai and Radio Barcelona.

  • Dynamic installation with a stationary bicycle and Morse code transmitter inside the America’s Cup Experience. Concept “ENERGY!”
  • Promotion of the Marconi Telegraphy Building, the only one remaining in the world, built in 1911 by the Marconi Company and designed by the modernist architect, a contemporary of Gaudí, Josep Puig i Cadafalch
  • Conference for the enhancement of youth talent, creativity, and entrepreneurship, which will discuss the Guglielmo Marconi case history. The conference will be moderated by internationally renowned journalist Xavier Vilà and will take place on October 14, 2024, at Sala Martì l'Humá in Plaza del Rei, Barcelona
  • Temporary Exhibition "Cantiere Marconi" on the life of Marconi and his relationship with Catalonia.
